Stand Up Comedy Jokes – Killer Training

killerstandupcomedyjokes box small Stand Up Comedy Jokes Killer Comedy Writing SystemSo you’re interested in becoming a stand up comic and getting some good routines? I think you will find that the “Killer Stand Up” Comedy Writing System is just what you are looking for.

You know what makes these guys great? They actually allow you to download demos of their routines so you can see how good they are before you even get the system. That is how much confidence they have in them. And there’s about over 100 pages of material. To me, that’s insane. But that’s just my opinion. So if nothing else, go and download the demo and see for yourself.

Next, go to the site and review the testimonials. Click Here.

You will recognize some of these people because they are comedians who have actually had success with this system. Some I am sure you have seen either in clubs in Vegas or even on TV. So you know that this is the real deal.

stand up comedy guru Stand Up Comedy Jokes Killer Comedy Writing SystemSteve Roye, the person who wrote this amazing system, is very well known in this circle. He has headlined at numerous places in California and Nevada. He has opened for the Beach Boys, Eddie Money, Tower Of Power, Maze and America to name a few. For other comedians, he’s opened for Bill Maher, Richard Jeni, Judy Tenuta, Brad Garrett, and Bobcat Goldthwait. That’s quite an impressive resume.

Steve managed to perform often, develop a following and make more money in comedy part-time while he was still on active duty in the Navy than virtually all of the full time comedians in his area.

He did it all without any TV exposure so many think is vital to the usual comedy career.

So, how did he do it?

He did it by developing a system that allowed him to capture his natural sense of humor for the stage.  He developed techniques to quickly and effectively produce large amounts of killer comedy material without using conventional “joke writing” methodologies.

Now he shows others how to easily use the same methods that really work for the naturally funny individual truly motivated in seriously pursuing a well paying part-time or full time comedy career.

Let me share something with you now that Steve shares on the site itself, so you can save yourself a lot of time going there if you’re expecting something this is not.

This is not a magic pill that you can take that will have you produce comedy routines in seconds flat. This system takes work. If you’re willing to put in that work to kill on stage, go to Killer Stand Up NOW.

The Best Stand Up Comedy Tips

Vital Stand Up Comedy Tips

Sure you’re amusing. Everybody says so. But there’s a huge difference between making people laugh until they pee and really making a living as a stand-up comedian.

Excellent jokes aren’t enough. To have a successful career in stand-up comedy, you have to be tenacious and persistent, sometimes for years, before you start getting the right breaks.

Jay Davis, from HBO’s Tourgasm show, says on the HBO Web site, “You don’t even realize you’re growing, but I reckon it takes 10 years to become a comedian. It’s something you have to do consistently, and it takes so many times on stage. But after 10 years on stage, that’s when you graduate. That’s when you can say you’re a professional comedian.”

Here are some tips to get you started.

Learn from others

Writers have a saying – if you want to write, you have to read. The same is right for stand-up comedy. If you want to perform, you have to watch the performances of other comedians.

The thought isn’t to copy them. You need your own style and your own presence on stage. But you can watch other stand-up comedians to learn what they do incorrect and what they do right.

Choose the comedians who have a style similar to yours, the ones you admire. See how they reconnect with the audience after a joke bombs. Watch how they handle hecklers. Try to pick up on the rhythm of their delivery.

A excellent place to start is Comedy Central. The network regularly airs “Comedy Central Presents” stand-up specials. Check out “Stand-up Nation with Greg Giraldo” on Friday nights to see comics who are still on their way up. And go to Netflix or your local video store to rent DVDs of some of your favorite stand-up comics.

Do your homework

Read some books on stand-up comedy to get a real thought of how to craft your material and what the business is like. A excellent place to start is “The Comedy Bible” by Judy Carter. You can’t learn to be
amusing from a book, or at all if you don’t have the talent to start with, but she does a fantastic job of breaking down joke-telling techniques and explaining steps to advance your career.

You also might want to take a look at the documentary, “Comedian” with Jerry Seinfeld. It shows some of the difficulties that he faced in reviving his stand-up career after then end of his long-running TV sitcom.

And consider some classes. You’ll be able to work on your timing and delivery and sharpen your material with other professionals. As with anything, it’s buyer beware, but there are a number of excellent comedy workshops and coaches available, including Carter and former stand-up comedian Neil Leiberman.

Finally, I’d recommend the “Killer Stand Up Comedy Writing System” by Steve Roye.  The author is known for producing brilliant guides for people trying to break into a new career.

Practice, practice, practice

You’ve studied the greats, researched the business and worked on your material. Now you have to see how it flies with audiences. By all means, try out your jokes on your friends – especially the brutally honest ones – but you also need to try them on people who won’t feel obligated to laugh.

Many local nightclubs and bars have open mic nights for performers. Go to them, even if it means having to wait in line behind the guy reading poetry and the hippie chick with her acoustic guitar. You usually only get two to three minutes onstage, so be prepared – with five or ten minutes worth of material. You never know when you might have to skip through some jokes that are bombing, or when you might be questioned to keep going.

And try comedy clubs. Depending on where you live, you might have to drive to get to one, but it will be worth it. Most clubs will allow new comics who are amusing – and can prove it – to do a three to five minute set early in the evening. Just don’t expect to be paid for performing. If you’re lucky, you might get a drink or two on the house. The real pay off will come from the experience and the exposure.

Go to work

If you’re amusing enough, and you prove yourself to be a professional who shows up on time, comes prepared with enough material and doesn’t make outrageous demands, you will get work.

That could mean regular gigs in comedy clubs, on cruise ships, or believe it not, doing shows for corporate audiences. Companies regularly hire comedians to entertain at conventions, retreats and award dinners.

Most of all, be patient. This is going to take time.

Writing Funny Stand Up Comedy Jokes

2010-04-06 Stand Up Comedy Jokes| Stand Up Comedy Tips No Comments

Stand Up Comedy Jokes

stand up comedy jokes 1 300x187 Writing Funny Stand Up Comedy JokesPeople who make stand up comedy their career must have this single question on their minds…

How do I write killer stand up comedy jokes?

Every amateur (and probably some pros) will continually ask themselves this question.  Here is some information that will help resolve this problem.

Take a paper and pen and start thinking of words that are important to you. Look up words around your family and friends.

Secondly make these words your topics. Then think about some weird things you find about that word. Your emotions are attached with these words. Try phrasing these words in a funny way. Write 10 funny things about them. Now attach a gesture to the funny things you have noted about these jokes. This represents half about how to write stand up comedy jokes.

A key component to learning stand up comedy is to understand that the gestures you make to your writings is what makes people laugh. That gesture is responsible for 80 percent of the laugh that you get.  The remaining 20 percent is based on the actual content of the joke.

Once you have decided on the best gesture, do the entire joke in front of the mirror and if it makes you laugh, then you can bet that your audience will laugh as well. It is also best to perform your act for your family and/or friends to get confirmation that you created a good joke.

As you are learning to write stand up comedy jokes, make sure to record the jokes, along with the gesture and make sure and give more importance to the manner in which you present the joke.  Listen to the recording time and time again, play it at different places and for different people to ensure that the joke is still funny.  Take the feedback from your listeners and make any necessary corrections.
